Renovation
Seven Springs Mountain Resort has undergone several changes. Below is a summary of recent modifications and enhancements.
2007
In the fall of 2007, the hotel at Seven Springs received a full renovation and redecoration. All 418 hotel rooms were planned for refurbishment. Seven Springs chose George Conte Designs of Greensburg, Pennsylvania to perform the complete renovation. The entire rooms were remodeled, with new bedding, carpets, curtains, doors, tables, desks, and chairs. Also new for the renewed hotel is an LCD TV in each room with a multimedia jack for connecting various digital devices.
Another project that was planned by Seven Springs Mountain Resort at the same time was the building of a second high speed six-passenger chairlift serving the Gunnar slope at the North Face. The new chairlift now takes skiers and snowboarders to the top of the mountain in four minutes, in comparison to twelve minutes on the previous chairlift. The Gunnar Express Lift was constructed in place of the Gunnar Triple Chairlift.
Construction for both the hotel and the chairlift were fully completed and open to guests for use in time for the 2007-08 skiing season.
2008
Several projects have arisen for the 2008-09 winter ski season at Seven Springs. Improvements and additions to the slopes and trails and terrain parks are among the many plans made for the resort. Construction for other major projects, including the addition of an outdoor swimming pool and spa facility, have also begun.

Mans Intervention In Native Species Hits Close To Home
When we think about the spread of humans, outside of ourselves we quite often tend to think about possibly spreading a disease or maybe some of our domesticated plants or animals. However, that is not all that human beings spread round the earth because it turns out that a variety of less than desirable species love to catch rides along with us, also. Let's investigate several examples which have made the news recently.
In Maryland, there's a marvel located in the area streams called 'rock snot'. As unpleasant as that name sounds, David Dishneau of MSN News (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41692545/ns/us_news-environment/) tells us that this is in reality a type of algae known as Didymosphenia geminata to biologists. It turns out, fishermen have been unwittingly scattering this algae through wearing felt soled boots as they are fly fishing. These boots currently face a ban within the state of Maryland and, even for the anglers, this is the best thing. It turns out that even beyond looking gross, the algae lowers the caddis fly and mayflies that trout need to feed.
Another and better recognized 'hitchhiker of humanity' comes from South America to the American South. The fire ant is rather well known today and Randolph E. Schmid of the Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/25/fire-ants-in-asia-came-fr_n_828443.html) shows how these ants which arrived in the United States throughout the Thirties are now going even further. Nowadays, genetically interrelated colonies are starting in Australia, China and some other nations. What is generally shocking is that these ants usually are not from their original South American colonies, they are spread via commercial transport and related to US colonies. That ought to trigger us to ponder, even for just a moment, just how big our effect may be upon this planet, particularly as business people and consumers.
The fact is, we all work collectively to get the world into the shape that it's in even if we had no objective to. That could be why at this time we are trying to adjust our intent. Eco responsible products like eco reusable bags are an ideal way to help us decreased the amount of tangible litter we leave behind, but what about the items we spread? Many companies discover that stationary as well as seeded paper products are helping them feel good about what they may contribute. When that type of paper breaks down, flowers sprout. Flowers are one thing we are able to feel good about spreading.
Clearly, humanity shifts the global populations of vegetation and animals greater than we earlier realized. Whether it is the rock snot located in Maryland trout streams or the fire ants taking up residents on other continents, we definitely produce an impact. That is why it is nice to know there are still helpful differences we can assist to create.

Spring Fishing In Illinois

Who's ready for spring to go fishing?
I live in mid-summer and 10 degrees of Illinois for two weeks and I'm ready to warm up and get out on the lake. I would have loved to go fishing on the ice, but never frozen at all, and when it started to freeze in depth, is heated to 40 degrees and melting! Anyone else ready to go fishing?
I'm in a state of abstinence, which was too long.
